Self Bunded Diesel Tanks
A self bunded diesel tank stores fuel inside a double skinned shell, so the outer wall is the bund. If the inner tank ever leaks, the fuel is caught in the space between the two skins rather than reaching the ground. That is what makes these tanks suitable for yards, depots and job sites without pouring a concrete bund first.

Why self bunded rather than single skin
- No civil works. The bund is built into the tank, so you are not waiting on a concrete pad and bund wall before you can store fuel.
- It moves when the site moves. Our BOX range is designed to be lifted and relocated, so the tank follows the work rather than anchoring it.
- Contained by design. A leak is captured in the interstitial space instead of reaching soil, stormwater or a neighbouring property.
- Ready to dispense. Tanks can be supplied with the pump, meter, filtration, hose and automatic shut off nozzle already fitted and tested.

Dispensing options
The tank is only half the decision. What you put on it determines how fast the fleet gets away in the morning.
- 12V DC at 50 or 76 litres per minute. Runs off a battery, so the tank does not need mains power. Suits remote corners of a yard, and can be solar charged.
- 240V AC at 60 or 100 litres per minute. Faster, and the right choice where power is already at the tank and volumes are high.
- Generator hose kits for topping up plant and gensets rather than vehicles.
- Fuel management options where you need to record who drew what, into which asset.
Every dispensing kit is built around filtration and an automatic shut off nozzle, because clean fuel and no overfills matter more on stored diesel than most operators expect.

One thing worth knowing about 12V: most 12V pumps carry a duty cycle of around 30 minutes, so on a large fleet the pump becomes the bottleneck rather than the tank. We have solved that on real sites by fitting two pumps, as in the 30,000 litre off-grid build for Total Civil and Haulage.
Bigger than 11,000 litres
Above the BOX range we build containerised self bunded tanks on shipping container frames, which travel on a standard truck and craned into place like any container. The 30,000 litre unit we built for a Salisbury haulage yard is a good example of what that looks like in practice, including solar powered dispensing and a mains backup.

Compliance
Diesel is classed as a C1 combustible liquid and its storage in Australia is governed by AS 1940, the standard for the storage and handling of flammable and combustible liquids. Our tanks are built to be compliant storage, and they are plated and labelled accordingly.
What a standard cannot tell you from here is how it applies to your site. Separation distances, bunding requirements and any classified zones depend on quantity, location, site layout and what is around you. Those are site specific questions for a licensed dangerous goods consultant and your state regulator, and we will happily point you in the right direction rather than guess.
